Assembly point confirmed
The assembly point for the march is now confirmed. People should gather from 11am on Victoria Embankment by Temple tube station on March 28th. The postcode is WC2R 2 PP. This is a link to a google map.
The nearest tube is Temple, but Embankment, Blackfriars and Waterloo are short walks away too opening up other possibilities.
Coaches will probably be able to drop off on Victoria Embankment or Waterloo Bridge but this will be confirmed later.

My interest is in friendly earth, UK Aid, Everychild. Pls let me know how to join this ralley
Hi Saithy. Please do come join us! There will be more info on this site as we know it, and you can also sign up for events on Facebook and Upcoming to stay in the loop.
Any one know of a shared bus going from Sheffield? Thanks.
Let’s make this bigger than the anti war/Blair march of February 2003 where 1 million people came together in London. There are as many different constituencies of British people who hold very strong opinions about what our so called leaders have been doing who want to be listened to that there is every chance that this march can be the biggest demonstration against injustice, inequality and the protection of the rich and powerful ever seen. Let’s all get to work to make this a reality.
How long will marchers be standing before marching? what distance will the march cover? How fast is it expected marchers will walk? I want to know if it will be feasible for my partly disabled husband to join in. Will there be any seating for people like him and partners at the rally please? Will buses be running normally until and after the event as an alternative to tube? Presume we should bring own food and enough drinks?-How long is rally expected to last please?
Hi Dee, thanks for that. There’s more info on the route here: http://www.putpeoplefirst.org.uk/whats-happening/the-route/
It’s about 4 miles in total. We’re suggesting people arrive closer to 11 than to 12, as the march moves off at noon and people still arriving may get stuck as it goes. It will probably be a slow to normal walking pace overall, slowing and stopping occasionally as it moves along, and it will be possible to walk at different speeds in the crowd, depending on what suits best. Another option might be waiting for the march at some point and joining the end, so you’re not waiting around for so long or walking so far.
The rally will probably last around 2 hours for all the speakers and acts – more details on the site as we get them – sorry it’s so sketchy at the moment. As yet no plans for any seating areas. Catering facilities will be available, but it may be easier to take some with you if there are queues.
Buses will be running in London – there’s more information on transport options here: http://www.putpeoplefirst.org.uk/whats-happening/transport/
Hi, I’m arranging busses from Glasgow. What unions or groups do you know of that are supporting or attending the march? Anyone interested in transport let me know.
Sorry, forgot to ask… What time is the Rally due to end?
Hi Steven – we’ve stuck you on our coaches page thanks. Not sure about the rally end time yet sorry – more when the acts and speakers are confirmed soon.
Hi.
I am trying to arrange transport from Liverpool through PCS. I hope to be able to confirm soon. Is there an email address or anything to confirm plans to the site?
Thanks.
Phill
Thanks Phill – you can send a note in here: http://www.putpeoplefirst.org.uk/about-us/contact-us/ (sorry this is a bit convoluted, but as it’s a coalition, a central form helps us share enquiries out to the right people in the right organisations with less fuss)
Im planning to join the demo… my main concerns are the unfolding human tragedy and deployment of sexual atrocities against women and youn girls that has claimed over 5.4 Million lives in the Congo in the past 10 years. Can I bring a banner, reading over 5.4 Million killed! How Many More?
Thanks,
Vava Tampa
Hi Vava. Certainly – there will be people and groups there supporting individual issues from the whole range covered by PPF partner organisations and more. We’re not specifying what people should wear or do, and it’s great if people want to do something for themselves, though there will also be plenty of ‘official’ flags handed out at the march for anyone who wants a broader one.
I’ll see you there, I have tweeted about the meet-up and will continue to do so through the March, I’m @dawson — looking forward to meeting you all.
Cheers Dawson! Make sure to include hashtag #G20rally in your tweets – then they’ll appear in our Twitter buzz
Perhaps,at long last, things are starting to move. After thirty years of being stifled by the stench of rotten Thatcherite garbage, and a Labour Governement that is unworthy of the name, and a total betrayal of all those who ever trusted or supported it,that we can speel it outloud and clear; We want no Tories, crypto or otherwise. Brown and Co;the dustbin of History awaits you.
I have tried to put news of this round the school that I am currently attending as part of the 6th Form but have not succeded in getting many responses from many of the other students who attend this school but I am going to keep trying and I will be there on the 28th March in London marching for my Nan and her friends who were all firm supporters of the Environment and all the charities that help it and the world. =D
Well done Emma – keep on keeping on! Might be helpful to know the rally should be pretty good, with music from Luke Pritchard of the Kooks, Daby Toure and others, plus comedy from Mark Thomas.
Anyone know of a coach going from Oxford on Saturday morning (I know about the Oxford Tube bus service already)? Thanks.
Please can everyone make a MASSIVE effort to remain peaceful, non confrontational and yet totally impactful (our words and our presence will be our force, not violence!). Let’s all keep Gandhi in mind if we feel the agression rise up inside ourselves
Cheers.
@Dre
Hello Dre, looking forward to meeting you on the 28th, keep an hear-out for someone called Dawson =) I agree with you with regard to remaining peaceful too, it’s scary listening to and reading the news at the moment; the Police are really publicising a negative portrayal of the protest and its attendees for some reason… not sure what they’re trying to achieve, but scaremongering? hmmm, why do the police force have such a problem with legal protests, and I do mean legal protests too, I think most arm-chair critics would be surprised to see the too-often over zealous response by the Police to protesters.
I’ll be keeping Gandhi in mind as you rightly suggested.
ccant wait to get up their and make some trobles
what time is the it arriving at traf sqr?
